COAL FIRED POWER PLANTS
Effox-Flextor offers dampers and expansion joints for coal-fired boiler (front-end) applications,
such as primary air, secondary air and overfired air. For pollution-control (back-end) applications,
such as SCR and FGD, we offer expansion joints, louver dampers, and guillotine dampers that
meet the most demanding specifications of the world’s largest power suppliers.
Effox-Flextor has innovative and proven designs for expansion joints, guillotine dampers, and
diverter dampers for small and large turbines and HRSG systems. We use a variety of engineering
tools to test models in 3D, as well as computational fluid dynamics and finite element analysis.
We design and fabricate to established industry standards including ASME (American Society
of Mechanical Engineers), CSA (Canadian Standards Association), EJMA (Expansion Joint
Manufacturers Association), FSA (Fluid Sealing Association) and AWS (American Welding Society).
A.V.C. Specialists provides field service, inspections, maintenance, upgrades and parts for dry
FCC and wet H2SO4 precipitators. Our diverse offering includes collecting plates, discharge
electrodes, insulators, replacement rappers and connecting hardware. We also provide control
systems, including POWERCON™ microprocessor automatic voltage and rapper controls. Remote
operation and data control transfer are accessible via open architecture MODBUS or OPC
Fisher-Klosterman designs and manufactures high quality particulate removal and gas absorption
equipment, including high efficiency cyclones, baghouses, high temperature ceramic filtration,
venturi scrubbers, and packed towers. Our expertise includes handling the most severe process
conditions, such as high temperature, high pressure, erosive particulate and corrosive gases.
